Makeup haul!

Last week I went on a little shopping spree with my friend Emma. After having a really busy week in college for mock week I really needed to de-stress and makeup shopping is definitely one way to do so!
Poundshop

The first place we went to was the poundshop in search of any bargains we could find and we did drop lucky. I managed to pick up two of the Rimmel Glameyes Single Eyeshadows to go along with the 4 I had previously. The shades I picked up were Azure 330 which is a really pretty baby blue and Night Jewel 300 which is a dark grey and I'll definitely be putting together a Beauty Bargains post on these soon. I also found a Rimmel Stay Glossy Lipgloss in Non Stop Glamour 120, which is a lovely sparkly nude shade which will be perfect for an everyday, fresh faced look or on top of other lipsticks for a more put together look. I also managed to pick up a white Calvin Klein Creme Eyeshadow in bare silk, I bought one in a brown shade a few months ago and have loved using it as a base for my eyeshadows especially with a darker eye makeup looks so I thought this shade would be a great base for a lighter eye makeup look.

 Boots

Next we stopped off in Boots and I picked up a few things that I have been after for quite a few months now but had never got round to buying. I picked up two of the Baby Lips Dr Rescue in Too Cool and Pink Me Up as they were on buy one get one half price. I've already given these a little try and they are so much more hydrating compared to the original range. I also picked up two of the Natural Collection Lipsticks in Raspberry and Pink Mallow as I know these are the two shades that everyone talks about so I wanted to give them a go myself especially because they are only £1.99. When you bought 2 things from natural collection you got a free Natural Collection Tinted Lip Balm so i got the shade Caribbean Crush which is something that I probably wouldn't have bought on my own but I am slightly obsessed with lip balms so I'm excited to give this a go. I've seen so many people rave about the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob 063 and I've really gotten into wearing lip liners lately so I felt like this was a must to try out. The Last thing I got was the L'Oreal True Match Foundation (which I forgot to picture because I started using it and then it ended up in my everyday makeup draw instead of my blogging draw, oops) I just couldn't resist trying this out and so far I have been absolutely loving it. I usually find it really hard to find a foundation that truley matches my natural skin colour because I'm so pale but this one is definitely the closest I've got. I also had a few pounds of this as I had a voucher so it was around £8 instead of £10 which makes it even better.

  Primark
While in Primark I gave the P.S I love.. makeup range a quick look over to see if there were any other products that I wanted to try out. I've previously tried out some of the range but thought their products were really hit and miss but when I spotted this lipliner for £1 I had to give it a go as it's one of the only things I haven't tried out yet so I'm hoping this is a hidden gem in the mix. I got a browny nude shade in 01 and it feels surprisingly really creamy so I'm excited to try this out.

MAC
I couldn't go out on a shopping spree and come home without another MAC lipstick so after swatching a few shades in the shop my friend Emma helped me pick out the shade Speedial. I really wanted to get a natural everyday lip shade and this is a cremesheen so it'll be really glossy and perfect for that natural look.

Primark P.S.Love Makeup Range

After watching Becca Rose's video on the primark makeup range I just had to go out and buy some of the products to try out for myself.

Some of the products I bought where:
8 Shade Day Eyeshadow Palette- From what I could see Primark have two eyeshadow palettes, a day and a night one. I bought the day palette as it included more shades that I would normally go for, it includes 8 shades: 6 shimmer and 2 Matte. The first thing that drew me towards this palette was the colour selection as I knew that I would get my wear out of every single one of the shades. The first four shades would create a lovely natural pink shimmery eye whereas the last four shades would create a really natural smokey eye. The palette includes a mid tone brown which looks perfect in the crease and works well as a transition shade if you're going for a bolder look. It also includes the essential shimmery white shade for highlighting the in corners of the eye. A big plus of the palette is that it includes a massive mirror which is perfect for touching up makeup on the go or for travelling. The palette costs £2.50 so it's really inexpensive so it's perfect for anyone on a budget. I've tried this palette out a few times and I do think that it's really good for the price however its not a palette that I will instinctively reach for. Some of shadows are slightly chalky and they do need some extra blending but on days where I have a little more time in a morning this doesn't become that much of a problem but I have found it easier to reach for other palettes. I think this would be a perfect first palette and definitely something to look into if your new to eye makeup.

Matte Long Last Lipsticks- I picked up two shades from their matte lip collection including a red and a bright pink. I actually really like the gold packaging of these lipstick as it gives the feel that they're most expensive then they actually are and at £1.50 each these are a real bargain. Before trying these out my expectations were really low, I assumed they'd flake and stick to dry patches and that they'd be fading 5 minutes aftrer applying but these lipsticks did the complete opposite. I wore the red one a couple of times over the Christmas period and It actually lasted really well. The pink one was a lot more vibrant than I first thought which has meant that it is less wearable but I'll keep trying to find a way to wear this. The only downfall of these lipsticks are the smell and unfortunately I find it quite hard to look past it which is why I won't be buying any more shades which is really sad because these lipsticks really are great for the money.
3D Shine Lipgloss Berry 61- I would say these are a lot more like lip laquer's than a lip gloss as the consistency is really thick. These have similar packaging to the lipsticks with the gold lid and writing up the tube which I think is a really nice touch. The main difference between the two lip products is the smell. The lipglosses smell so much better than the lipsticks which is a major plus in my opinion. The shade I picked up was a beautiful berry shade which looks great in the wintery months. The only thing I didn't like about this product was the applicator as it made it really hard to apply the lipgloss without getting it outside of my lips but when it was applied it looked amazing. The colour is really bold and really glossy without being too sticky so the pros of the product definitely outweigh the cons.
Liquid Lipstick Berry 08- I also bought the liquid lipstick in the colour berry and there is very little difference between the lipgloss and the liquid lipstick. They both have that same annoying applicator and the consistency is pretty much the same so I probably wouldn't of bought both the lipgloss and the liquid lipstick if I'd known how similar they were. The only difference is that the liquid lipstick is a slightly lighter shade of purple so if I'm not in a bold purple lip mood the liquid lipstick is a better choice.

Lip pencil 01-This is a newer purchase compared to the other 5 products as I only picked this up the last time I was in Primark but after giving it a little swatch in the shop I had to have it especially cause it was only £1. It was really creamy so glided on easily which means that it shouldn't tug on the lips when applying it and the colour was definitely something I was lacking in my collection. I got it in the shade 01 which is a pinky brown which will be perfect for recreating that 90's lip look that's on completely on trend.

Have you tried out any of the Primark Makeup Range, Do you think it's a hit or a miss?

Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria Lipstick!

I finally caved and bought my first Charlotte Tilbury lipstick, after lusting over all things CT the past few months I just couldn't resist any longer. I must admit what completely sold me was the name-Very Victoria, of course being a Victoria myself I just had to have this as it felt very appropriate especially for my first purchase. At £23 a lipstick these do not come cheap but you certainly get everything you pay for. From the packaging to the scent everything about the CT range is perfect.
First things first, the rose gold packaging is just to die for! It was another reason as to why I couldn't resist having one for my ever growing lipstick collection. The ribbed packaging and the stamp of CT approval on the lid adds to the luxurious appearance and the product inside is equally as perfect. I absolutely love when I open up a new lip product and it's vanilla scented so for me I couldn't have got a more perfect scent. Very Victoria is from the matte revolution range and is the perfect color for recreating the true suede, taupe 90's nude lip look that is completely on trend at the minute.
Charlotte Tilbury ticked all the boxes for the perfect lipstick, the name, scent, packaging, color and most of all the long lasting effect. My Charlotte Tilbury wishlist just got a whole lot longer.

Have you tried anything Charlotte Tilbury?

The Revolution Primer Edit

Recently I've become obsessed with trying out new primers to try and get the most out of my makeup throughout the day. The Revolution stand is the first place I head to when in Superdrug so over the past few weeks I've tried out their face and eye primer.

Ultra Face Base Primer-A face primer is essential in my makeup routine as I want my makeup to look as best as possible after long days of college as it did when I first applied it in the morning. This was a primer that I picked up a few weeks ago for £5 and so far I've been loving it. This primer is silicone based and seamlessly blends into nothing on the skin which makes it very lightweight. Compared to other primers in my collection it matches the job they do and keeps my makeup in place for as long as possible. I just apply a small amount into the areas that get worn away quickest and blend it out using my fingers. As well as making my makeup last longer it also helps make my foundation application easy and flawless and when applied all over the face it creates a super smooth base. This makes it a lot easier to blend foundation on top and it helps to avoid clogging up pores and clinging to dry patches.

Focus and Fix Eye Primer- This primer has been in my collection for a little bit longer so it's had a lot more use. This is the eye primer that I reach for most because it does exactly what I want it too and it's only £2.50! They come in three shades: original, matte and brightening. I have the brightening one and I apply just a small dab of this onto the lid and blend out with my fingers before appling eyeshadows and my eye makeup seems to last twice as long. As well as prolonging the wear this makes my eyeshadow look more intense especially when wearing metallic eyeshadows, Even though I reach for this pretty much everyday I still seem a long way from finishing the tube but when I do this will definitely be a repurchase.

I've recently bought the Revolution Pro Fix Amazing Makeup Fixing Spray to see if that could keep my makeup in place for the day so I'll be putting a review together on that as soon as I've tried it out.

Are primer's something you use often, if so which is your favourite? What are your favourtie Revolution products?

Collection Little Mix Makeup Range

For so long I've been wanting to try out the Collection's Little Mix Range and for Christmas I got the Eyeshaodw palette and the lipstick collection. Their range has been very popular since it was launched which has made the products pretty hard to get a hold of otherwise I'd have picked up some products sooner. I love the collab between Collection and Little Mix as they've definitely made their products affordable for their audience who may be on a budget.

All about the eyes palette £2.99- This is the perfect little eyeshdow palette that I think everyone needs to have in their collection. The lightest shade is a slightly shimmery highlight shade called Feather(1) which would be perfect for brightening the inner corner or used on the brow bone. The next three shades Sunkissed(2), Golden Sand(3) and Dazzling Brown(4) are more shimmery, bronze shades that would look perfect all over the lid especially the first two for a really bright eye makeup look. The fifth shade in the palette is called Cocoa Dream(5) and I think this would look perfect in the outer corner of the eye to deepen and make a smokier look or it could be mixed with Dazzling Brown(4) for a lighter corner look. Finally the last shade in the palette is the dark black called Blackbrid(6) which could be used for liner or to further deepen the outer corner of the eye. The only downfall of this palette is that there are no completely matte shades which I feel is essential in any eye makeup look even if just for transition but apart from that I love this palette and it's definitely one you can play around with to create a few different looks. The eyeshaodws are very pigmented especially the black shade which means they still look amazing without priming the eyes and they blend super easy so I definitely wouldn't hesitate to buy the palette especially with the price!

Lipsticks £2.99
Jade-This lipstick has been on my Nude lipstick wishlist for so long now and I was desperate to get my hands on it but everytime I went to try a buy this in Superdrug there were never any left! It's the perfect everyday lipstick and is very much a 'your lips but better' shade. I can already tell that this is going to be a favourite lipstick of mine as I'm already reaching for it a lot because it goes with every makeup look.
Jesy- I have a lot of red lipsticks in my collection but I don't have any quite like this shade. Jesy's is a super pigmented bright red lip which will be perfect for in the summer time and definitely makes a statement.
Leigh-anne-This lisptick is more my kind of red lipstick shade as its deeper, glamourous red. This shade is definitely easier to pull off and you can still make a statement with this lipstick without being too in your face.
Perrie-This was the shade that I really wasn't sure how to pull off at first because it's a pastel purple shade but after trying it on it quickly became my favourite of the collection. Although it can look a little scary in the tube it's actually really easy to wear and I definitely don't have another lipstick like this.

I love the colour range of this lipstick range becsuase there is definitely something for everyone but the only downfall is that they don't last very long on the lips so you do have to keep topping them up throughout the day in order to sustain the look but that's something that really doesn't bother me.

Have you tried out any of the Little Mix Makeup Range? What are your favourtie products?

Real Techniques Sam's Pics First Impressions

I've been a massive fan of the real techniques brushes since I started wearing makeup so when I got this limited edition set for Christmas which included some brushes that I hadn't tried out and some of my old favourites I was really excited to start using them.
The set includes 4 face brushes and 2 eye brushes:
Multi tasking brush- This is one of my favourites in the set and one of the brushes that I previously hadn't tried out. It's the perfect shape for dusting bronzer, powder and blusher over the face. It's a slightly smaller brush compared with the powder one so its easier to create a more precise look especially when using bronzer.
Setting brush- I've been after a brush this size for a long time now and it fits perfectly into the areas around the eye so it's been perfect for blending concealer and setting powder over top.
Buffing brush-I love that this brush is in the set because they don't sell it on it's own! I've been after a second one of these brushes since I got the first in the Core Collection so that I could have a back up. Especially because my original on is my most used and needs cleaning the most frequently.
Foundation brush-This is another brush that I already had from the Core Collection but it's a brush that I love using for blending in concealer or for correcting mistakes.
Essential Crease brush-This was a brush that I didn't already have in my collection but I'm so glad it is now, It fits into the crease perfectly and blends eyeshadow easily and was a brush I was definitely lacking in my collection.
Liner brush-This brush is great for any type of eyeliner, especially gel eyeliner as it makes it so easy to apply and creates a natural looking line.

My next real techniques purchase will most definitely be for the new Bold Metals Collection, although they are on the more pricier side the stunning packaging makes them totally worth it!

What are your favourite Real Techniques brushes? What will be your next Real Techniques purchase?

W7- Honeycomb Blusher + 10 out of 10 Palette

W7 seems to be a brand that's popping up everywhere and I definitely think that it'll be hitting off in 2015. This brand is perfect for anyone starting out in makeup or anyone on a budget. You definitely get more than what you bargain for with their products because they're so inexpensive but such good quality. B&M, T J Hughes and T K Max are all places that I've seen W7 stocked in so there are plenty of places to take a look at some of their products. I even think they stock it in ASDA.
The Honey Queen Honeycomb blusher £4.95-This is my favourite of the two products and it's a definite dupe for the Benefit blush boxes but so much cheaper! It's a beautiful shade with amazing pay off on the skin, this is a blush that I have been absolutely loving and has been a staple in my makeup routine throughout December! Included in the box was a super soft blush applicator so for anyone new to makeup it makes it very easy to apply. I've been loving using this brush for a bolder contoured look.
The 10 out of 10 palette £2.99(selected stores)-This 10 shade palette provides everything you'll need to create the perfect brown eyed makeup look. With both warm, cool, shimmer and matte tone shades it gives you many opportuniteis to create different eyeshadow looks. Although these are not the best eyeshadows that I've used they are still very good quality for their price. They blend easy but to get the best pay off you may need an eyeshadow primer underneath but they are definitely still worth the money. This would be a perfect first palette as the shades are all neutral so you can't really go wrong. You could even try out some of these shades to fill out your brows.

I'll definitely be looking out for more W7 products to try out in the future because these two really excelled my expectations.

Have you tried out any W7 products, What did you think?

Zoeva Brushes + First Impressions

When these arrived in the post a few weeks ago I could barely contain my excitement. I'd been after these brushes for a while now but I couldn't find anywhere in the Uk that sold them so as soon as I saw that I could get them from Beauty Bay I couldn't get them ordered quick enough! In the set there are 5 Face brushes and 3 eye brushes with a chocolatey coloured wooden handle and rose gold platting around the top. Not only are these the most stunning brushes ever they are also some of the best quality brushes out there.
The Face Brushes
Powder Brush-This is one of my favourites in the set as its the perfect size for dusting both lose and pressed powder around the face. I find that some powder brushes are way too big for my face but this Zoeva one is perfect! The brush applies a very thin layer of powder so it looks very natural and completely avoids the chalky look.
Silk Finish Brush-This is the brush that seems to be everyone's favourite and I can definitely see why. It blends foundation effortlessly to provide a natural, silky finish and leaves you with a flawless base to work with.
Face Shape Brush-This smaller rounded brush helps to provide a precise and detailed contour for a airbrushed look. I've been using it along cheekbones, jawline and temples to provide myself with the perfect bold contour.
Luxe Sheer Cheek Brush-This is another one of my favourites as it can be used instead of the face shape brush to give an ultra soft contour and shaded look as the brush fits perfectly into the hollows of the cheeks. I've been using this for both my blush and my bronzer and the angle provides the perfect amount of definition.
Concealer and Buffer Brush-The small rounded brush fits perfectly around the eyes and into every small corner of the face which means it can completely cover dark circles and hide any redness. It flawlessly blends concealer into the skin as the silk finish brush does with foundation.
Eye Brushes
Soft definer brush-This brush is super soft which helps to create smooth transitions for eyeshadows and makes blending rough edges really easy.
Petit crease brush- This brush fits perfectly into the crease to give professional crease definition and eliminates any contrasting edges. This means that it's really easy to contour the eye and add more definition to your eye makeup look.
Wing eyeliner brush- This brush offers easy application for liquid and gel eyeliners as the lining of the brush is only very thin. The brush is also very flexible which means it will move into the shape of the eyelid to create the perfect eyeliner look. I especially love using this with eyeshadows to create a really natural liner to bring together my eye makeup.

What are your favourite brushes and who are they by?

Boots Pre-Christmas Haul

Over the past few weeks I've been nipping into Boots quite a lot especially with all the special offers and gift sets on offer at this time of the year.
Bourjois
The first thing that I picked up was the Rouge Edition Velvet in Nude-ist 07(£8.99) as this had been on my Nude Lipstick Wishlist, which you can read here, so I couldn't resist. I also picked up the Volume 1 second Mascara in Black (£9.99) because it's been so talked about recently so I really wanted to give it a go. I'd also came to the end of my Maybelline Falsies mascara and really wanted to try something new.
As I spent £15 and over I got the Bourjois free gift set which included:

Max Factor
Another place that had the box deal was Max Factor so I picked up a few things to make up the £15.
The Excess Shimmer shadow in Copper 20(£7.99) was something that I had been looking at since they were released so I picked up a shade that would be perfect for the Christmas time. To go along with the eyeshadow I picked out the Lipgloss in Luxurious Berry 45(£7.99) as I already had one in a red shade and really liked it so I decided on a more purply shade for the winter months.
The Max Factor free gift set included:

L'oreal
There were two lipsticks from L'Oreal that were also on my nude lipstick wishlist so I decided to pick those up to get the L'oreal Box offer with it. The Julianne Nude Lipstick(£6.99) was something that I had been after since November so I really wanted to pick that up and the Liquid Lipstick in Nude Ballet 601(£8.99) was another one that I had been eyeing up.
The L'Oreal Free gift set included:
Color Riche Le Khol Eyeliner in Immaculate Snow 120

Extra Bits
Some other bits that I had picked up along the way were the Rimmel moisture renew lipstick in As You Want Victoria(£6.49) and as soon as I saw my name in the title I just couldn't resist buying it! I also picked up Bourjois Rose exclusif Lipgloss(£7.69) as it was little different to anything else that I had in my collection as it changes to your own person colour so I really wanted to try it out. I picked up the L'Oreal Julianne Red Lipstick(£6.99) to go along with the nude one as I loved the Blake red so much that I wanted to try out a different shade. Finally I got the Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in Rose Tweed 04(£7.99) as it was something else that had been at the top of my wishlist.

Beauty Bargains #2 Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hours Foundation

My other beauty bargain post is currently my most popular post, you can read that here, so when in B&M's a few weeks ago I was on the search for some new beauty bargains. I picked up a few things including the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour Foundation to try out which was only £3.99 instead of £7.99 and lucky enough they had a shade light enough for me to try out.
If I'm totally honest I hate trying out new foundations as I can never find the right shade, the right consistency or the right finish so when I find a foundation that I do like I tend to stick with it. But for £3.99 I decided that if this wasn't a hit then it really didn't matter because it was so cheap. To begin with I didn't have any expectations at all as I hadn't had to chance to look into it, so when I tried it out a few days later I was super impressed. Usually before I buy a product I'll check ratings and reviews to be sure that it's something worth buying but I obviously didn't have the chance before buying this so I wasn't sure what to expect. It wasn't until after I first started using the foundation that I noticed how popular this foundation actually was and I could totally understand why. I picked up the shade light porcelain which is the perfect shade for me, it blends so easy and looks very natural on the skin which is exactly what I want from my foundation coverage and it really does last a very long time.
Whether it lasts 25 hours I'm not entirely sure but it certainly still looks great after long days of college and busy days. I wore this foundation while in London a few weeks ago and it certainly stayed put throughout the long, rushed and manic days that I spent there. The only flaw that I have come across is that when it's been on for long amounts of time it does start to become slightly greasy especially in areas such as the T-zone but that is something I can certainly deal with.
I'm currently using this foundation everyday and I love it, it's even taken over from my favourite Max Factor foundation! Also, Rimmel have currently released a new nude version which I really want to try out as if it's anything like this foundation it will be worth every penny!

What is your favourite drugstore foundation?

November favourites

Soap and Glory Blush- This month I have barely reached for another blusher which is so rare for me because blusher is the one thing that I change up most in my daily makeup routine. However, this month the Soap and Glory Love At First Blush has made a statement in my makeup routine. It adds the slightest rosy tint to the cheeks for a natural flushed look which I've been loving this month especially now that we're nearing winter. You can get this form Boots here.
Ted Baker body souffle-I've really gotten into body butters and souffle's these past few months and this Ted Baker one is by far one of my favourites. Now that the colder months have arrived my skin really dries out so this souffle has been injecting some smoothness back into my skin. My favourite thing about this is the smell it's a very light, fresh scent of vanilla and flowers that lingers after application.
Pink Sands Candle-I have been loving candles this month especially the Yankee Candle Pink Sands. The scent is a mix of vanilla, flowers and a hint of citrus which is the really subtle, sweet scent. I've been lighting it whenever I've been spending a lot of time in my room and I'm nearing the bottom of the jar so I'll definitely be picking up another. You can get this from Yankee Candle here.
Blake Red Lipstick- This was in my November wishlist at the start of the month and the minute I got my hands on one I bought it straight away and it has quickly become my favourite all time red lipstick. I've been loving bold lips this month and this lipstick has been worn on more than a few occasions. It's the first matte lipstick that hasn't been super drying on my lips and it does last quite a while before it needs topping up so I've been wearing it every chance I've had.  You can get this from Boots here.
Naked Basics 1-I've had this palette in my collection for a long time and as you can tell by the packaging it is very well loved. I always turn to this palette when I'm not sure what to do with my eye makeup because it's so easy to create a simple, natural look. This month I have been using it to death, once again, and it's been my palette of choice throughout November especially as I've wanted to do a very natural eye look to go with my deep.bold lips. You can get this from Urban Decay here.

Drugstore Nude Lipstick Wishlist

1) L'oreal Liquid Lipstick Nude Ballet. This nude lipstick is the one I am most excited to get my hands on because I currently don't own any liquid lipsticks and I've seen so many people recommend this one. It's also the lipstick that Kim Kardashian wore on her wedding day which looked absolutely stunning so I really can't wait to go out and get this! You can get this from Boots here.
2) Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick Rose Tweed. Bourjois seem to be the place to go for lip products at the minute and I've heard so many people talk about this particular shade. When in Boots the other day I swatched this and I fell in love too! I own a red lipstick from this collection and I love it so I can't wait to try out some neutral shades as well. You can get this from Superdrug here.
3) Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick. Other lip products that I have seen everywhere at the minute are the Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks. I can't believe that I don't have any of these in my collection yet because I'm always on the lookout for super long lasting lip products so I definitely need to invest in one of these soon. You can get this from Superdrug here.
4) Collection Little Mix Jade Lipstick. Every time I go into Superdrug to buy this lipstick it's out of stock and I have tried everywhere! I already have a couple of Collection lipsticks and I think they are amazing quality for their price. When I first started looking around online for nude lipsticks this was one of the lipsticks I was first drawn to so I might order this online soon if I'm still unable to get it.You can get this from Superdrug here.
5) Collection Deluxe Lipstick Shade Talullah 2. I've seen quite a few bloggers talking about and recommending this collection nude lipstick. From some swatches I've seen it really does look like a beautiful neutral shade so next time I'm Boots or Superdrug I'll definitely be checking this out, You can get this from Superdrug here.

Do you have any nude lipstick recommendations?

Beauty Buys In London!

Finally, after weeks of lusting over the Sleek Precious Metals Highlighting Palette I managed to pick one up in Superdrug (here) when on my visit to London the other week. The palette is even more stunning in person and I cant wait to start using it. The four different shades Platinum, Royal Gold, Renaissance Gold and Antique Bronze are all such pretty shades and I can tell they are going to look as beautiful on the face as they do in the packaging.

Another product that I had on my wishlist for this month, which you can read here, was the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer (here). So I picked this up with the Sleek palette as part of the 3 for 2 offer. I really wanted to try out the Lumi Magique primer as well but decided to try out the highligter/concealer pen first to see what I thought. I'm literally obsessed with rose gold packaging so this was a must buy!
To complete the 3 for 2 mix and match offer at Superdrug I picked up the Bourjois Happy Light foundation (here) after seeing so many good reviews. I really wanted to try out a different and lighter foundation so this seemed like the perefect one to go for. This is the first Bourjois foundation that I have bought so I'm hoping that it lives up to expectations.

I've been after the Makeup Revolution baked eyeshadows for a while now but because my local Superdrugs don't stock Makeup Revolution I've had to wait until I found a store that did. I picked up the shade Pure and Innocent (here) which contains golden, brown and pink shimmer shades and I've loved all their other eye shadows so I don't think that these will disappoint. While at the stand I decided that I might as well pick up a few more bits to make up the 3 for 2 offer. I already have a few palettes from Makeup Revolution so I wanted to try some out a few different products. I picked up the inner eye brightener (here) and the pressed powder in porcelain (here). I actually really like the packaging of the pressed powder which also contains a sponge applicator in the bottom and I can't wait to try out these products soon.

I would've walked past the KIKO store if it wasn't for the fact that my sister desperately wanted to go in and have a look. I hadn't heard much about KIKO and just assumed that it was another expensive high end store but while looking around I noticed that they had some really good deals! The whole of this only cost £13.90.The first thing that I picked up was the velvet mat lipstick in 602 (here) and I've been on the lookout for a nude lipstick so this shade looked perfect for me. To go along with the lipstick I got the lip liner to match in the shade 502 (here). I loved the packaging of these lipsticks so much that I wanted to go back and get another one so I picked up the luminous chrome lipstick in the shade 706 (here).

The most exciting purchase of the trip was my YSL lipstick, which was at the top of my high end lipstick wishlist which you can read (here). In the end I bought the shade Pink in Paris 13 which wasn't my first choice but I still love this shade just as much. The very helpful lady at the YSL counter helped me pick out a second shade when I found out that the first one I'd picked out was out of stock, just my luck, but the Pink in Paris was a very similar shade to the original one so I was very happy to go ahead and purchase this one instead.

I'm saving up to buy...

1) Zoeva Rose Gold Brush Set- I have been after this set of brushes for so long now but I couldn't find anywhere to buy them in the UK. Then I found out that Beauty Bay were selling them online here and I was extremely excited that I'd finally found a place to buy them after waiting for so long. In the set there are 8 brushes packaged in a stunning rose gold design and the set contains 5 face brushes, 3 eye brushes and also comes in a sleek exclusive clutch bag.
2)Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation- I have already gone through 3 bottles of the Naked foundation in the past and loved it but I had to stop using it for my everyday foundation when it was becoming too expensive to keep repurchasing it especially so often. I started buying cheaper alternatives for my foundation and only used the urban decay one on special occasions but I recently came to the end of my latest bottle so I'm saving up to buy another one to have on stock. I usually buy this from Debenhams here.
3) Urban Decay Naked Bascis 2- When the original naked basics came out it was the first eye shadow palette that I bought and It's a palette that I still use daily. It's the perfect palette for producing a natural everyday eye look and It's the palette I always reach for when doing my makeup for college and because I loved the first one so much I really want to try out Naked Basics 2. This palette is slightly different from the first one as it contains cooler tones so I'll be able to create some different looks. Urban decay produce the best eye shadows so I know I'll definitely be getting my money's worth when I eventually get round to buying it. You can get this palette from Debenhams here.
4) YSL Lipstick, 1 Le Rouge-As I said in my high end lipstick wishlist post, which you can read here, YSL are at the top of my lipstick to buy list. The packaging of the YSL lipsticks is to die for and there are so many shades that I am after. I've fallen in love with this deep red shade and I can't wait to start saving to buy this soon. You can get this from the YSL website here.

Are you saving up to buy anything?

High End Lipstick Wishlist!

The majority of my lipstick collection consists of drugstore products so I've been on the lookout for some high end lipsticks to try out and these are my top 5 favourites that I cant wait to get for my collection!

1) YSL Rouge volupte in the colour Coral intuitive- 15 'Summer Look 2014'. The YSL lipsticks are currently sitting right at the top of my to buy list. I've looked through many of the nude/peachy/pink shades and this one is definitely my favourite. A lot of my lipstick collection consists of darker shades so I really need some different shades that I can reach for. Also how stunning is the packaging?! I seriously can't wait to get my hands on one!
2) Chanel Rouge Coco-56 Teheran. Chanel. This colour is very different to something that I would normally go for but it's the shades that I was instantly drawn to so i'm hoping that it will be the perfect shade for me when I purchase it.
3) Estée Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipsticks in Scarlet Siren-Creme. Whenever I pass the Estée Lauder stand I just can't resist going over and having a browse. This shade is the one I'm always drawn to and I think it would be perfect shade for the autumnal months. It's also a shade that I don't own anything like so hopefully I can pick this one up soon!
4) MAC in Russian Red- The majority of my red lipstick collection consists of bright red shades and when I was searching for a deeper red shade I came across this MAC lipstick and it was exactly what I was after. Hopefully I'll be able to find this shade in a MAC store near me.
5)YSL Rouge Volupte in Rouge in Danger-04. The second YSL lipstick that has made it into my top 5 is the shade Rouge in Danger. I just can't resist red lipsticks in pretty packaging so this one obviously caught my eye.
What are your favourite high end lipsticks?

Favourite Lip Care Products!

Now we've entered the colder months my lips definitely need a lot more attention and care to prevent them from drying and becoming chapped. These are the products that I turn to, to do the job!

My go to Lip Care products:

Vaseline Cocoa Butter- Vaseline are the best when it comes to lip care products and they're always the first products I turn to when I'm having trouble with my lips. They keep my lips moisturised for the longest time which is really good because I don't always want to be topping it up throughout the day. I prefer the Cocoa Butter one to all the other flavours purely because it smells the best. You can get from this from Boots here
Carmex- These are new lip products that I'm trying out but they're fast becoming some of my favourites. I heard a lot of people mentioning how amazing they were so I really wanted to give them a go. They do tingle when they're being applied but they provide quick relief when I've got dry, chapped lips. The stawberry juice fruit flavour is my favourite. You can get Carmex products here
Nivea Lip Butter Vanilla/Raspberry- I am absolutly loving using the nivea lip butters at the moment and you can read all about that in my October Favourites here. They leave my lips super smooth and moisturised and the smell of the vanilla one is just heaven! You can get these from Boots here
Baby Lips- I think everyone has heard of Baby Lips these are my favourite for applying before my lipsticks or even on there own. The fact that they are tinted makes it all the better because i'll just top them up throughout the day to maintain colour and moisture. You can get them from Boots here
Jelly Baby- I picked two of these up when at the till in Primark in flavours cherry and berry. I love having one of these in my handbags that I can just reach for when I need to add some quick moisture to my lips.

What are your favourite lip care products?

Max Factor Colour Correctors Review!

A few weeks ago I went into Boots to pick up a new bottle of my everyday foundation Max Factor Lasting Performance, as usual there was an offer for 3 for 2 on all Max Factor products so I ended up picking up more than I intended. I saw the colour corrector's and thought that they were exactly what I've been after as the two things that I'm really self conscious about are my dark under circles and the scars left behind from my ache so once I purchased these I couldn't wait to try them out. In the past I've tried a few colour correcting products and although they helped they still didn't provide me with what I was aiming for so I was praying that these would do the job.

The green one aims to reduce any redness in skin tone and make the appearance of spots smaller and less visible. The yellow one works to correct the blue/purplish colours under the eyes to brighten up dark under circles so you look more awake and radiant. They are stocked in 5 different shades that aim to neutralise any skin tones. They have a crayon shape applicator which makes it easy to target specific areas and apply directly on the area that you want to counterbalance.
You can get them from Boots here for £8.99.

I really, really, really wanted to love both of these but I do have mixed emotions about both shades. I added both of them to my daily makeup routine for a week and then took them out to see if I noticed any changes. I've preferred the green corrector out of the two because I did notice a difference when I took it out of my routine. While wearing it I was able to wear less products than before which made my base foundation appear more natural and flawless. When I had these in my daily routine I applied them on areas that I wished to correct and then applied a thinner layer of foundation over the top and my scars were completely invisible. Usually I have to apply a thicker layer of foundation and then concealer over the top to completely cover any scars so using this has made life a little easier and helped to make my foundation appear natural and flawless. However the under eye corrector wasn't as big of a hit.The consistency of the corrector's are waxy so it can be difficult to blend them completely into the skin. When applied to areas away from the eyes it doesn't become much of a problem but by the under eyes I didn't want to be apply to much pressure because the under eyes are so sensitive so I found it hard to use them effectively. The one thing that I did like about the under eye corrector was that my under eye concealer seemed to last longer which is a big bonus because that's the first place where my makeup disappears throughout the day.
So far these have been the best colour corrector's that I have come across and I'd recommend the green colour corrector if you suffer from redness, scars or blemishes. I do think that I'll end up repurchasing these again and I'm looking to try out the highlighter shade next.

Have you tried any other colour correcting products? Would you recommend them?

Pound shops and B&M Beauty Bargains!

The Pound shop and B&M would normally be the last place that I'd think to go for some beauty buys but recently I've found some real bargains in there!

Rimmel Apocalips are normally priced at £6.49 from drugstores such as Boots and Superdrug so I was so surprised to see that both the poundshop and B&M were selling these at such cheap prices! I picked up one for £1 in the pounshop and the other one for £1.99 from B&M and this was all in the space of a few weeks. If you're in the right place at the right time you can save yourself some easy money and now I know that I can get these for cheaper prices i'll keep checking back into my local 'cheap' stores, to see if I can pick up anymore shades, instead of going to the Rimmel stands.

A few other bits I've managed to pick up are some baby lips, Rimmel wake me up radiance touch and a maybelline popstick. The Rimmel wake me up instant radiance shimmer touch are usually £4.99 and I picked up the shade 002 Radiant Rose and 003 Peach Glow for £1 each. The baby lips are usually £2.99 and I recently picked those up in 3 different colours from the poundshop. Another thing I've bought from the pounds shop was the Maybelline color sensation popsticks. I'm not sure if drugstores are still stocking this so I'm not sure on how much they originally cost but I picked this one up in the shade Cherry Pop 080.

The Rimmel Color Rush lip balm's are priced at £5.99 in drugstores but I picked up these two in B&M for £2.99 each. This is the first time I've seen these around so cheap so I snatched up all the colours they had on offer. It's so surprising because the colours are actually colours I've been after so I've saved myself £3 on each! I'm hoping that some different colours come into stock so that I can purchase some more because I absolutely love these!

Some other makeup brands that I've seen stocked in the pound shops and B&M are w7, Calvin Klein, NYC and Miss Sporty.

Where do you find your beauty bargains from?
